Who we are.
San Leandro 2050 envisions a city that eliminates its greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, to reverse the negative effects of climate change.
To move toward this vision, we need what we call Community Climate Solutions. These are projects, improvements, and action plans that are put in place for and with the community, including businesses, nonprofits, schools, church congregations, neighborhood groups and individuals—everybody. Our role is to bring people together in this shared effort, through partnership and with the help of our sponsors.

Many San Leandro businesses are taking their own initiative to make operations more sustainable, offer green jobs or contribute to community dialogue. As sponsors of San Leandro 2050 they may support us financially, offer in-kind donations like meeting space or refreshments and provide important business perspectives for our ongoing work.
Located above Drake’s Barrel House and Home Depot on Davis Street, and managed by Michael Jones, Gate510 is a commercial campus bringing together scientists, entrepreneurs, and makers under one roof to design and develop technologies for the 21st century. As a local leader in sustainability, Gate510 is working to add solar panels, improve building insulation and upgrade lighting to LED fixtures to dramatically increase energy efficiency at the campus as well as exploring ways to enhance the indoor environment quality for its tenants.
Gate510 is a sponsor of San Leandro 2050’s virtual and in-person listening sessions taking place starting this September through 2021. Looking forward, San Leandro 2050 is excited to partner with Gate510 to implement projects and policies that decarbonize our economy while increasing quality of life for all San Leandrans.
