Who we are.
Sign our petition, keep Lake Chabot Road closed for good!
Join us in advocating for safer walking and biking in San Leandro!
Over the past 4 years, we have surveyed and discussed the future of our city with residents, and one clear priority has emerged: the need for safer outdoor spaces. Our community wants more safe walking and biking areas.

Lake Chabot Road has been temporarily closed due to recent extreme weather events which caused portions of the road to slide, providing us with a glimpse of what could be - a safer environment for walkers and bikers alike. This closure has transformed the road into a haven for pedestrians and cyclists, people on bikes, walking dogs, and enjoying the tranquility of nature. By keeping it closed permanently, we're not just prioritizing safety; we're investing wisely and making improvements focused on Biking and walking. With an estimated $11.5 million needed to repair the road for automobile use (equal to the annual road repair budget for the entire City), let's instead allocate these resources towards creating a vibrant, safe environment.
Sign the petition today to maintain the closure of Lake Chabot Road for good. Let's build a healthier, more enjoyable San Leandro for ourselves, our children, and generations to come! #LakeChabotClosedForGood.
