SanLeandro2050 is a local nonprofit established to promote bold action on climate change in San Leandro. We have been funded by the State of California to conduct outreach in the neighborhoods of San Leandro most impacted by air pollution. We are seeking motivated High School students to be SL2050’s representative at San Leandro High School. You will help us develop and participate in community outreach programs for San Leandro residents, including outreach to other High School students and through other San Leandro schools. Additional work may include projects in social media outreach, plans for a community garden, collaboration with other San Leandro schools, videography or other projects. Spanish or Cantanese speakers are a plus!
Beginning in March 2022 through August 2022, three internships are available and will pay a stipend of $150 per month for completing assigned tasks which should take approximately 8 to 12 hours of work per month. Most work will be after school and some work will occur on weekends. The work will be both virtual and in person. Summer months may involve additional projects and stipends.
If you are interested, please email a statement of interest to email@example.com as soon as possible and no later than March 1, 2022. In the subject line put “SL2050 Internship.” Please describe your interest in working on climate change and environmental justice, and include a phone number that we can reach you at.
