Job Title: Resilience Project Manager
Position Overview: As part of a collaborative effort between Bethel Community Presbyterian Church and San Leandro 2050, the Resilience Project Manager will support the development of a community-based Resilience Center at the Bethel site. This full-time role will focus on identifying funding and partnerships to support long-term resilience infrastructure, delivering high-impact programming, and implementing inclusive, citywide engagement strategies, particularly targeting historically underserved communities. This position is funded by Bethel Community Presbyterian Church and a grant of the California Air Resources Board (CARB)
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Development & Infrastructure Funding 30%
Identify and pursue funding sources to support resilience infrastructure (e.g., solar, battery storage, water resilience, operational tools, and other facilities resistance upgrades) as prioritized by resilience team leadership.).
Develop materials and proposals aligned with the broader San Leandro Resilience Strategy in collaboration with the Bethel resilience team.
Partner Development & Program Expansion 30%
Cultivate partnerships with nonprofits, local community organizations.
Collaborate with SL2050 staff and Bethel to develop and coordinate partnership programming onsite.
Air Quality & Public Education Activation 15%
Assist in the design of a creative, visible air quality-focused public installation or presentation.to Communicate how resilience strategies reduce emissions and pollution locally, and how Bethel hub has features that do as.
Community Engagement & Equity Strategy 25%
Assist in Executing culturally relevant outreach to engage San Leandro residents, particularly non-English speakers and environmentally burdened communities.
Help build visibility and trust through events, multilingual outreach, and participatory programs.
Support volunteer program (and our pay it forward program) for development and training initiatives to encourage community ownership and leadership development for ongoing resilience, sustainability, and community care.
Work with Bethel leadership and church and community to help guide the vision and development of the Resilience Hub, facilitating a collaborative group that meets regularly to ensure the site reflects the shared values, priorities, and needs of the church.
Qualifications:
Experience in community development, climate resilience, or public health.
Strong relationship-building and cross-sector coordination skills.
Excellent communication and public engagement abilities.
Creative thinker with interest in visual storytelling or public education.
Experience in grant writing or nonprofit/public collaboration a plus
Bilingual(Spanish or Cantonese) a plus
Excellent Digital Skills (Google Biz or MS office, WIX, Canva, SQL Database a plus)
Compensation & Duration:
Hourly rate: $35/hour.
This position is funded for approximately two years of full-time work (35-40 hours/week).
includes Health, Dental and PTO Benefits.
Timesheet tracking is required for compliance with grant reporting.
Supervision:
Reports to a designated co-pastor at Bethel for site operations.
Reports to the Executive Director of SL2050 for grant and programmatic deliverables.
